George Swaris, though reads as Swains on the hand written roll. Original defender, wounded during the siege (Uncovenanted Civil Service) present with wife and three children, later Suptdt. Raj Press. Shown as married Lucknow 1848 to Ellen Gamboa, daughter of one Bernard Gamboa (a Spanish Basque surname), 7 children, died 9/1/1882 of ‘Dropsy’ at Jenpore, Rajputana and Suptdt.of the Raj Press
